New Gastroenterologist Joins First Physicians Group Network

SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is excited to welcome board-certified gastroenterologist Sooyun Chun, MD, to our expanding First Physicians Group team of specialists dedicated to gastrointestinal health. 

Dr. Chun brings extensive expertise and experience in digestive health and G.I. endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat disorders of the gastrointestinal system. Joining FPG Gastroenterology at its new location in the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Hillview, Dr. Chun’s practice focuses on general gastroenterology, preventative screenings and women’s GI issues. 

Dr. Chun comes to Sarasota after having worked at the Corvallis Clinic of Gastroenterology in Corvallis, Ore., for 10 years and the Ohio G.I. and Liver Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 3 years. 

Dr. Chun earned her medical degree from Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. She went on to complete her residency at Brown University in Providence, R.I., in 2004, and then a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Cincinnati in 2007.
