SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Public Hospital Board, which governs Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, installed its 2020-2021 slate of officers on Tuesday.
Jim Meister, who has represented Seat 1 in the Northern District since 2015, was re-elected chairman.
The other Sarasota County Public Hospital Board officers are:
Vice Chairman: Sharon Wetzler DePeters
Second Vice Chairman: Britt Riner
Secretary: Sarah Lodge
Assistant Secretary: Greg Carter
Treasurer: Joseph J. DeVirgilio Jr.
Assistant Treasurer: Darryl Henry
Made up of 9 citizens elected by Sarasota County voters to 4-year terms, the unpaid Hospital Board also includes members Tramm Hudson and Richard Rehmeyer, MD. Governing the only public hospital in the region, the board is charged with setting the strategic direction of the organization and serving as good stewards of its financial resources. Each November, the board votes on a new slate of officers from its members.
