SMH Honors Physicians, Installs New Medical Staff Leaders

The medical staff of Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Sarasota campus recently honored 2 physicians for outstanding service to the hospital and the community and installed its new physician leaders for 2021-2022. Richard Brown, MD, medical director of our Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute, was awarded the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award, and hospitalist Faisal Keen, MD, was named 2021 Physician of the Year.

Cornell Family Donates $10 Million for New Behavioral Health Pavilion

Target Corp. Chairman and CEO Brian Cornell and wife Martha Cornell are donating $10 million to support the creation of a new behavioral health facility, the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation announced. The 3-story pavilion will be built on the hospital’s Sarasota campus, with 4 inpatient units to serve different patient populations.
