The comprehensive Sarasota Memorial Cancer Institute is evolving! Two new premier facilities will be built this year to house services across the entire continuum of cancer care — from prevention, screening and diagnosis to treatment, clinical trials, and lifetime follow-up, survivorship care and support.
In January 2019, Sarasota Memorial celebrated the first phase of construction with a groundbreaking of its new Radiation Oncology Center, which will offer two new linear accelerators and the latest radiation therapy options to target and treat individual cancers. The Radiation Oncology Center—located nextdoor to the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at University Parkway (5350 University Pkwy)—is slated to open in the summer of 2020, followed by the SMH main campus' Cancer Institute oncology tower in 2021.
