    Neuro Challenge Foundation Presents Latest Clinical Data: Parkinson’s Above the Neck: The Non-Motor Aspects of Parkinson’s Disease

     Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder that affects one in 100 people over the age of 60.  During its four years of providing cutting-edge research by world-renowned physicians to Sarasota’s Parkinson’s community, Neuro Challenge Foundation has empowered those living with Parkinson’s disease to live life to their fullest.

     Neuro Challenge Foundation, Inc. and Sarasota Memorial Health Care System will present four distinguished speakers on October 12th, 2013 with the latest information on these secondary factors of Parkinson’s disease:

     Dr. Jody Abrams, Sarasota Retina Institute: “Visual Disorders and Parkinson’s Disease” Dr. Abrams specializes in both neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery and is a practicing physician at the Sarasota Retina Institute.

    Dr. Marc Levy, Sarasota Retina Institute: “Visual Disorders and Parkinson’s Disease” Dr. Levy became Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in October 1986 and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.

    Dr. Dean P. Sutherland, Southeastern Center for Parkinson Disease: “Understanding the Link between Depression and Parkinson’s Disease” Dr. Sutherland is board-certified in Adult Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  Dr. Sutherland earned a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Neuroscience.  During this training, Dr. Sutherland received several prestigious awards for teaching from faculty and from peers at FSU and at UF.  Today, he is an Assistant Professor and the Clerkship Director for the Clinical Neurology at The FSU College of Medicine in Sarasota.

    Dr. Andrew Keegan, Roskamp Institute Memory Center: “Memory Loss and Dementia” Dr. Keegan is the Associate Director of the Roskamp Institute Clinic which focuses on the clinical research, diagnosis, management and treatment of neurological, neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.

     Participants will have opportunities for a question and answer session with the physician speakers.
