The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Sarasota Memorial is designed to improve the health and quality of life of people living with heart, lung and vascular disease and help those managing chronic diseases lead active, productive lives. Whether you’ve had a heart attack or heart transplant, asthma or emphysema, our team of cardiovascular and pulmonary specialists will review your personal and medical history and customize a program to meet your individual needs and personal health goals.
Our cardiopulmonary team includes an experienced multidisciplinary team of specialists, including:
- Specially trained nurses
- Respiratory therapists
- Exercise physiologists
The cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs are conveniently located at Sarasota Memorial’s Institute for Advanced Medicine, 5880 Rand Blvd., Sarasota (approximately 1/2-mile west of I-75 off Clark Road), and at our North Port ER and Health Care Center, 2345 Bobcat Village Center Road, North Port.
The program requires a doctor’s referral to enroll in cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation. Most major insurance carriers and Medicare cover Sarasota Memorial’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Medicare does not yet cover cardiac rehabilitation for congestive heart failure.
