Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, along with other national, state and community organizations and health providers, is participating in a nationwide public awareness campaign to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making—an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day. On that day in communities across the country, people will have the opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversations about their healthcare wishes and complete reliable advance directives to make their decisions known should an injury or illness prevent them from making them in critical medical situations.
In Sarasota County, Sarasota Memorial will host a community education event featuring a panel of medical, legal and mental health experts presenting the latest information on ethical & living wills, advanced directives, health care surrogates and other ways to make your critical healthcare decisions known. The free event will take place 6-8 pm Monday, April 16, in Sarasota Memorial’s first floor auditorium, 1700 S. Tamiami Trail. CEUs available for qualified professionals ($10 fee). Please RSVP: (941) 917-1779
